Tommy's Blog August 21st, 2009

Friday August 21, 2009: First of all, Happy Birthday to my sister Lola!!!!!!! I love you Lola! Well, the last few hours have been pretty darn crazy and exciting. Okay, here’s what happened yesterday. It’s about 9:45am and we’re basically done on the air and I’m ready to leave early. I say goodbye to everyone and turn off the lights in my studio and walk out to my car, where one of my bosses was standing in the hallway waiting for me. He says, “hey Tommy, we need you and Jeff and Jer upstairs right now”. It was there, I said to myself, “uh oh, here it is, today was our last show”.
We’ve known for months our last show would most likely be at the end of our deal which was to be 8/31. BUT, they pulled us early which they had every right to. Jeff and Jer and Clearchannel had negotiations going on and for one reason or another did not come to an agreement and that’s all I need to say about that, because that’s the past and Jeff and Jer chose for us to be all together and to continue to be family to our listeners and that’s all I care about.

I love Jeff and Jer. I love Laura, Randy, Emily, and Delana. We are a family and we have grown so close together through all this for the last several months. It’s only getting out to the public NOW because you don’t hear us on the air. BUT, we have been prepared for many weeks to months now for this day.

WHERE WILL WE BE NEXT? We will tell you the very moment we can officially.

I am so proud of being on Jeff and Jer and being with YOU our listeners for 21 years now and MORE coming soon. We have the best listeners in the world. We’ve been through a lot together. We’ve been married, divorced, births, deaths, graduations, sobriety, NON SOBRIETY, girlfriends, fiancés, breakups, fat, skinny, rich, poor, and much more all together on the air with you. We will keep it that way.

Laura and I are really close these days! She’s like my best friend. She really is. If I didn’t know Laura so well like a sister, I would be hitting on her. J If and when I do get married, Laura and my son Eddie will be my best men.

We are all okay and we are all working towards getting back with you OUR FAMILY on the air soon. Just keep coming to www.jeffandjer.com and keep emailing us and we will do the same.

I can take this time off and finally try to lose that final 20 pounds.

Jeff and Jer did a lot of TV this morning and tonight. We will post some of the links up soon.

GO CHULA VISTA LITTLE LEAGUE!

I love you so much and we are all fine and we miss you and we will be on the air shortly.

I will blog daily to give you updates and Laura will do her diary as well…

Love,
Tommy

Laura's Diary 82109

Dear Diary,

Holy smokes! It's crazy how things can completely change in an instant. Yesterday, we were on the air and everything was motoring along as usual, then just before 10am, I see Tommy sneak into the studio and whisper something into Jeff's ear and then whisper something in Jerry's ear and then he comes over to me and whispers "I'm pretty sure this is our last day on the air at Star." What? He was right. The suits at Clear Channel decided to take us off the air. They made an offer to Jeff and Jer to stay, but that offer didn't include some of the rest of us. The guys said it was all of us or none of us. So....that's the story. Where we're going is another story. I don't know yet. What I do know is that it'll be in San Diego and that it'll happen in the near future. In the meantime, I'm going to be a real live stay at home mom! How cool is that? I get to wake up with my kids, feed them, dress them and take them to school. Evan starts kindergarten and Charlie starts 4th grade next week. I'm going to have to put myself on a huge budget. It's a little scary thinking about not having a steady paycheck, but it'll all work out in the end, right? Right? I'll keep you updated as best I can about what's going on with all of us. Thanks so much for your friendship and love. It means everything to us. See you soon, Diary.
